Independence Day 2017: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the nation on the 71th Indian Independence Day on Monday.- Happy Independence Day 2017 To All.From Red Fort, Albeit with a slight change from the last year - this time, he will stand behind a bullet-proof shield. With heightened terror threats in India in recent year's, security officials are not ready to take any chances on 15 August 2017, unlike last year when they relented to Modis request to 'directly connect' with the people. This year, too, Modi is expected to announce several schemes of his government, including a universal health insurance plan, and several rural schemes.
